Foster Feature

Here at Pawsitive Solutions, we believe that there are WAY too many dogs in our Canadian shelters and rescues, which is a feeling I’m sure we all share. With that in mind, we have developed a new program to feature dogs from local rescues to spread awareness and help to find them their forever homes. Every month we will be featuring a new dog from a different local rescue.

We will also be partnering with other dog related businesses to create adoption packages that will go home with each dog upon adoption. Find out what's in the package below!

Nikki's Story

Bully Mix | 3Y | F | 21.25KG | Spayed | UTD on Shots | Dog Selective | Cats Unknown | Great with Kids | Medium Energy | Crate Trained | House Trained

When Nikki was first surrendered to Bark at the Moon in August of 2022, she was extremely emaciated, covered in fleas, and starved for love. Even though the beginning of her life was rough, it never affected her spirit and zest for life. She has always been super trusting and loving of all the humans in her life, especially the small ones. Nikki has since been living at Static K9 just outside of London, Ontario, where she has learned to be the best dog she can be. She comes fully obedience trained though it is required that she continues with her training to help form a bond with her new fur-ever family.

Nikki has learned to co-exist near other animals, but she would do best as an only pet due to her selective tendencies towards other animals. Overall, Nikki adapts to new situations very well and would do well in any living situation as long as she meets her daily physical needs. She is great on a leash and enjoys a great game of fetch or a long hike. Breed experience would be ideal, as her personality and basic behavior are related to her genetics.

Nikki needs as much love as you can give and wants to return it to you. She can be a little nervous when she first meets a new person but is quick to give affection to those who gain her trust. She is the world's biggest snuggle bug, and while she enjoys her time playing and training, she equally enjoys a good snuggle up on the couch at the end of the day.

She will need a patient handler to support her in her training as she continues improving her confidence. She would make a great sports dog or hiking companion. The ideal home would be an active couple or family. She loves her little humans, is super patient, and is always down for a dress-up tea party.

Local Rescue

Bark at the Moon

This rescue was founded in early 2021 to help provide love, housing, and good health for street dogs, shelter dogs, and local dogs in need. They are a non-profit, foster-based rescue with dogs being fostered across South Western Ontario (Ranging from Toronto to London).

They believe that all animals' lives matter and are committed to saving the lives of as many dogs and cats in need as possible. They believe where the animals are located should never matter. An animal in need is an animal in need.

Additionally, they are not the ones to shy away from a challenging case. They have had dozens of behavioral cases come into their program in hopes of helping them overcome their challenges and giving them a second chance at life.

They stand by their motto:All Breeds, No Borders.
