Foster Feature

Here at Pawsitive Solutions, we believe that there are WAY too many dogs in our Canadian shelters and rescues, which is a feeling I’m sure we all share. So we created this program to partner with our local rescues to feature some of their amazing foster dogs in hopes to get them adopted!

Along with that we have also partnered with some amazing pet businesses that have donated their time and products to create an adoption package that will go home with each dog, each month. Check out what's in this months package below!

Nikki's Story

When Nikki was first surrendered to Bark at the Moon in August of 2022, she was extremely emaciated, covered in fleas, and starved for love. Even though the beginning of her life was rough, it never affected her spirit and zest for life. She has always been super trusting and loving of all the humans in her life, especially the small ones. Nikki has since been living at Static K9 just outside of London, Ontario, where she has learned to be the best dog she can be. She comes fully obedience trained though it’s required that she continues with her training to help form a bond with her new fur-ever family.

Nikki has learned to co-exist near other animals but would do best as an only pet due to her selective tendencies towards other animals. Overall, Nikki adapts to new situations very well and would do well in any living situation as long as she meets her daily physical needs. She is excellent on a leash and enjoys a great game of fetch or a long hike. Breed experience would be ideal, as her personality and basic behavior relate to her genetics.

Nikki needs as much love as you can and wants to return it to you. She can be a little nervous when she first meets a new person but is quick to give affection to those who gain her trust. She is the world’s biggest snuggle bug, and while she enjoys her time playing and training, she equally enjoys a good snuggle up on the couch at the end of the day.

She will need a patient handler to support her in her training as she continues improving her confidence. She would make a great sport dog or hiking companion and is always up for an adventure. Nikki loves her little humans and is super patient and always down for a dress-up tea party. Her ideal home would be as an only pet with an active family or couple.

If this sounds like the dog for you, head to Bark at the Moon to fill out an application today!

Local Rescue

Bark at the Moon

Bark at the Moon Animal Rescue was founded in early 2021, as a means to help provide love, housing, and good health for street dogs, shelter dogs and local dogs in need. They are a non profit, foster based rescue with dogs in foster homes across South Western Ontario (Ranging from Toronto, to London). Globally, we’ve seen an increase in overpopulation in terms of abandoned and neglected animals since the beginning of the pandemic. Shelters both locally and abroad are overflowing with unwanted pets.

They believe that all animals' lives matter, and are committed to saving as many dogs and cats that are in need of their help. Their motto is All Breeds, No Boarders because where they are located should never matter, an animal in need is an animal in need. Additionally, they aren’t ones to shy away from a challenging case. They have had dozens of behavioral cases come into their program and find their forever homes!
